It’s always hard to lose someone we love,whether it a romantic or platonic love.
I lost my nearly 10 year relationship a year ago. It’s definitely been a journey. Lots of ups and downs. Now I’d like to say I’m coasting. It’s good. On a relatively even keel,but hit a pothole every now and again.
Like someone said in their story,the heartbreak is a literal physical pain. I felt my back break,couldn’t stop crying, couldn’t breathe. Of course we had issues,some worse than others. But I know I did the best I could.
In the end, it could be looked at 2 ways. He would say he chose himself (he had gone through a major death in his family;no bullshit there). I was going though my own medical issues;ended up having surgery after the breakup. But I know I did everything I could to be there for him despite my pain. I feel that he gave up;didn’t even want to try. Broke my heart. Still does. But it gets better.
PS..Like someone else said,make sure you’re available to be with someone before you get involved. And one last thing. We all need to get in the habit of asking 2 questions when we meet someone new.
First,are you in any type of romantic/sexual relationship with anyone?
Second, does anyone think they’re in a romantic relationship with you?
If they lie then,that’s on them. Don’t take their damage on. Fuck’em.
